From Lefkas around the south of the Peloponnese,
finishing in Athens
(20 of September - 10 of October 2009)

After suggestions from some of our previous years' guests, we decided to organize in 2009 a cruise that will take us completely out of the beaten track, all around the Peloponnese, which is the southern part of mainland Greece.
It is a route usually followed by private cruising yachts who want to see places rarely visited by tourists, but for thousands of years until the Corinthian canal was dug, this was actually the only route available for any boat sailing between the east and the west.
It is going to be a very interesting cruise, starting from Lefkas, sailing south through the Ionian Islands and along the west coast of the Peloponnese. Then we will turn east and follow the south coast before heading north and sailing through the islands of the Saronic to Athens.
We have organized it in 2 legs, so that you can join any part that you find more interesting or that the timing is better for you.
The starting and finishing place of each leg has been chosen so that there is convenient public transport (normally a coach) from/to the airport of Athens.
Leg 1: 20-30 of September (Lefkas - Monemvasia)
10 DAYS
The places we will visit on this leg are:
Lefkas, Meganisi, Ithaca, Zakinthos, Pilos, Methoni, Koroni, caves of Diros, Elafonisos, Monemvasia
The first three are islands in the Ionian, while the rest are little villages on the coast of the Peloponnese. Monemvasia, which is situated at the south-east corner of the Peloponnese, is a beautiful medieval village surrounded by a castle and is actually the ideal place to finish your cruise. If you are interested, after Ithaca we could also stop for a visit at the famous archaeological site of ancient Olympia.
Leg 2: 30th of September - 10th of October (Monemvasia - Athens)
10 DAYS
The places we will visit on this leg are:
Monemvasia, Yerakas, Leonidio, Nafplio, Spetses, Ermioni, Hydra,
Poros, Vathi, Athens
Some of them are villages on the east coast of the Peloponnese, while the rest are islands of the Saronic.
