Discontinued - Getting to the yacht in Lefkas from any country (2 options)

Option 1: Flight from your country to London (UK) and then charter flight to Lefkas

Airplane travelYou can fly from your country to the United Kingdom and then take a charter flight from London Gatwick airport to Preveza (airport code: PVK), which is situated just 20 kilometers north of Lefkas town. These flights are always on Sundays and some of the airlines you can use are First Choice, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook, Astraeus and British Midland.

From there you can use the transfer service that runs non-stop between Lefkas town and the airport with taxis and minibuses, at a cost of 10 Euro per person. Your driver will be waiting for you outside the 'Arrivals' hall, holding a sign with your name on it and you will be taken directly to the yacht. The drive is 20-30 minutes and if you are interested in using this service please let us know and we will book it for you.

Option 2: Flight from your country to Athens and then road/air transport to Lefkas
You can fly to Athens and then make your way to our yacht at Lefkas town by one of the following ways (Lefkas is an island, but it is connected to the mainland via a causeway and a bridge):

  • National bus

National busThe bus departs from Athens central bus station 4 times per day, 7 days per week, at 07:00, 13:00, 16:30 & 20:30.
For your return journey back to Athens, the bus departs from Lefkas at 09:30, 12:30, 16:30 & 17:15.
The buses are modern and comfortable, the route will take you through some very nice countryside of mainland Greece and the journey duration is 5 hours including a stop halfway for 20 minutes, for refreshments and toilet. The ticket is 34 Euro.

When you arrive in Lefkas, you can take a taxi from the bus station to 'Margarita' which is a cafe/taverna just across the quay from where our yacht is moored. You can sit there for lunch or a cold drink until boarding time. A taxi typically charges 6-8 Euro, it can take up to 4 people and the drive is only a few minutes.

Options for getting from Athens airport to Athens central bus station:

  1. The Express bus X93 runs between the Arrivals/Departures of Athens airport and the central bus station, the ticket costs 4 Euro and the journey would take you 60 minutes. You can buy the ticket from the kiosk next to the bus stop, or directly from the driver. This bus departs every 35 minutes during the day (05:00 - 24:00) and every 60 minutes during the night (24:00 -05:00).
  2. A taxi ride between the airport and bus station would cost around 40 Euro and the journey would take around 45 minutes.

Options for getting from your hotel in Athens city center to Athens central bus station:

  1. A taxi from your hotel to Athens central bus station would cost around 15 Euro and the journey would take around 20 minutes (depending on traffic). Your hotel will book the taxi for you.
  2. Local bus, but we wouldn't recommend this option as it is not too easy to find the bus stop.

How to book your bus ticket:
You can book your ticket online at the bus company's website, at the following address:

If you are planning to travel on Sunday, please note that you should take the early bus, as embarkation on the yacht is at 5 p.m. and we will set sail the same evening. In Athens Central Bus Station the bus for Lefkas departs from Pier 39 and please note that Lefkas is also called 'Lefkada' on some signs.

Car rentalYou can rent a car or minibus from Athens airport and drop it off at Lefkas town (one way rental), or park it at Lefkas town during your cruise so you can use it for your return journey to Athens airport the following Sunday.
Sometimes renting for 7 days comes cheaper than renting a vehicle for a one way trip and considering that parking in Lefkas town is completely safe and free of charge, it might be a better option.

Some of the companies you can use are listed below and when you are looking for a quote in their system, please keep in mind that Lefkas is also called 'Lefkada'.
