Hello everybody,

Beach in ThailandWe hope you are doing well and that you enjoyed your summer. Our season here in Greece is almost finished and we're thinking about some sunny tropical place to sail in the winter :)

Some of you may remember that for 3 winters we (Thanos and Alicia) cruised in the Caribbean, but for this coming January/February we thought about a more exotic place.... Thailand!!!

We are very excited as the scenery is breathtaking, there are amazing sandy beaches, the culture is very interesting and the people are the friendliest! Another name for it is the land of the thousand smiles!

CatamaranTHE YACHT
Unlike cruising in Greece where every evening we dock at a different village, in Thailand there are very few harbors or marinas, so we spend the nights at an anchorage using the dinghy to go ashore for dinners.

As we will be spending quite a few hours per day onboard, we are chartering a large catamaran (45 feet), as their difference to a monohull is that they have a very wide cockpit as well as a large saloon, offering more space for everyone.

There are 3 double en-suite cabins available on this 10 day cruise, sleeping 6 people.

THE DATES (21-31 of January 2015)
Embarkation is at noon on the 21st of January and disembarkation is at noon on the 31st of January 2015. There may be some flexibility with dates, but this depends on the availability of the catamaran.

Monolith in Phang Nga BayPHUKET & THE ANDAMAN SEA
The cruising area will be in the Andaman Sea (the sea to the west of the Thai mainland) starting and finishing at the island of Phuket and we will visit:
- The Phang Nga Bay with its numerous islands and its spectacular sheer limestone monoliths which rise vertically from the sea (maybe you remember the scenes from the James Bond movie 'The man with the golden gun').
- The Krabi Islands
- Koh Lanta with its 60 island archipelago
- The Phi Phi Islands
- The Racha Islands which are a true tropical paradise
- The numerous islands to the east of Phuket

Beach in ThailandSAILING IN THAILAND & WEATHER
Generally at the end of January/beginning of February the winds in Thailand are very light. This cruise is more about enjoying the scenery, the tropical waters, the Thai cuisine and visiting the islands, rather than fast sailing.

The air temperature typically ranges from 28-32 degrees Celsius in the day to 22-25 degrees Celsius in the night, while the sea temperature is more or less constant at around 28 degrees Celsius.

GETTING THERE
Phuket has an international airport, so you can fly from your country to Phuket, or you can fly to Bangkok and then get a domestic flight to Phuket.

THE COST
The price is 260 Euro per person per day, so for this 10 day cruise the cost will be 2600 Euro per person, based on double occupancy of the cabin. Please note that this goes towards covering all the expenses of the cruise and we are not looking at making a profit, as for us it is a way of enjoying a tropical place in the winter.

INCLUDED & NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Similar to our cruises in Greece, half-board and all other expenses are included in the price except for dinners (we'll be going ashore with the dinghy), national park fees (6-12 Euro/person per park), transfers, flights and alcoholic drinks.

BOOKING
You can book 1 cabin and share the yacht with the rest of our guests, or book all 3 cabins if you have a larger group.
A 50% deposit will be required for booking the yacht and the remainder is due 8 weeks before the date of the cruise. Once you've made up your mind about joining us on this cruise, please let us know and we'll make a provisional booking for you for 48 hours, which will give you time to book your flights and pay for your cruise.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and to sailing together in Thailand this winter!
